Albert John Weis is a former infielder in the Major League Baseball and played for the Chicago White Sox. He switched from left to right and right to left when he is batting and threw right-handed. He was born in Franklin Square, New York on April 2, 1938 and went to Farmingdale High School in 1959. He made his debut for the Chicago White Sox on September 15, 1962. Weis played as a utility infielder in his first season with the White Sox for 99 games. In 1964, he set career highs with 81 hits and 22 stolen bases. He finished second in the American League the same year, a game behind the New York Yankees. For the next 3 years, Weis played as a utility infielder for the team until a game against the Baltimore Orioles gave him an injury. After that year, he was traded off to the New York Mets where he became a part of the 1969 Miracle Mets that won the World Series against the Orioles. The same year, he also won the Babe Ruth Award. In 1971, he was released by the Mets leaving a record of 800 games played, 346 hits, 7 home runs, 115 runs batted in and a .219 batting average.
