About Al Dark: Al Dark (full name: Alvin Ralph Dark; Blackie and The Swamp Fox) played shortstop and third baseman from 1946 until 1960 for the Boston Braves, New York Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Braves and Philadelphia Phillies. He played for the Braves from 1946 - 1949, Giants from 1950 - 1956, Cardinals from 1956 - 1958, Cubs from 1958 - 1959, Braves in 1960 and Phillies in 1960. Over 14 seasons, he played 1828 games, hit 126 home runs, drove in 1064 runs, and stole 59 bases. Born on January 7, 1922 in Comanche, OK, Dark stands 5' 11 and weighs 185 lb. He attended Lake Charles (Lake Charles, LA) high school. His debut was on July 14, 1946 and he played his final game on October 2, 1960. Over his career, Dark made $116,000.
